New Fin Continues to Grow in Mount St. Helens

Mount St. Helens Lava Dome May 2006The recent clear weather has allowed for some spectacular views of the fin-shaped slab growing on Mount St. Helens lava dome. I've added a couple recent photos of the volcano's crater to my Mount St. Helens photo gallery for you to check out. Or you can plan a trip to see it yourself - the Johnston Ridge Observatory, the visitor center closest to Mount St. Helens, recently opened for the 2006 season.
