Butte Ice Sculpture Contest

Wednesday November 29, 2006
Chips of ice will be flying in downtown Butte next Saturday, December 9, as teams compete in the Sixth Annual Uptown Butte Ice Sculpting Contest. Competitors will be set up on sidewalks outside various locations around the city, including BSB Courthouse, Finlen Hotel, Broadway Antiques, and Butte Weekly. The ice sculpting contest will take place from 9 am to 2:30 pm, allowing Butte's downtown shoppers to follow the progress as 340-pound blocks of ice are transformed into fantastic shapes and creatures.
