Northwest Film Locations for the Movie Twilight

Thursday November 20, 2008
The movie version of the popular novel Twilight will be released in the US this weekend. Did you know that several Northwest locations were used in the film? The story focuses on high-school-girl Bella, who moves to the small town of Forks, Washington and encounters vampires, adventure, and romance. Well, Forks is a real town located on the west side of the Olympic Peninsula. Locations around Forks were used in the film, including the high school and the police station. Many of Twilight's outdoor scenes were filmed in such Oregon locations as Silver Falls State Park and the town of St. Helens. If you're one of Twilight's many fans who plan to visit Forks yourself, I would recommend the oceanfront Kalaloch Lodge as the closest nice lodging.

Olde Town St. Helens actaully had quite a few shots. Bella’s Dad’s house was there, as well as the dress shop and the Bloated Frog Restaurant (though not really a restaurant in real life). If you come to St. Helens there are a few nice locations to stay and eat. Nob Hill Bed and Breakfast serves a wonderful breakfast and has river-view accomodations. I own the Klondike Restaurant and Bar where we are favorabley reviewed for our fresh American styled food that has something for everyone. My current favorite is a made-to-order apple crisp that you get hot out of the oven. 71 Cowlitz, St. Helens, OR 503-366-2634
