Butte Hosts the 2009 National Folk Festival

The prestigious National Folk Festival will once again take place in Butte, Montana in 2009. This multicultural festival celebrates America's diverse ethnic traditions through music, dance, traditional craft, storytelling, food, and more. Festival dates are Friday, July 10th through Sunday, July 12th and the entire event is FREE to the public. Performances can be seen on several stages throughout the long weekend. The National Folk Festival features a broad array of music and dance performances, participatory dancing, hands-on workshops, children's activities, regional and ethnic foods, parades, and craft exhibits. Musical styles will include blues, rockabilly, jazz, cowboy, bluegrass, western swing, zydeco, polka, old time, and gospel. The annual National Folklife Festival has been held for over 70 years. Butte will host the annual National Folk Festival through 2010.
