Getaway to Historic Fairhaven
Monday June 8, 2009
If you're looking for a unique place to enjoy a refreshing getaway, Historic Fairhaven is worth checking out. Fairhaven is a charming turn-of-the-century district located just south of downtown Bellingham, Washington and is definitely on my list of favorite Northwest getaway places. You won't find any chain stores or fast food restaurants in Fairhaven, which is an easy place to explore on foot. Most of the district's unique shops, galleries, and restaurants occupy a four-block by four-block neighborhood. It's all within walking distance of the bus and train station and the Bellingham Cruise Terminal, so you don't even need to drive your own vehicle. Whether you're planning a romantic weekend or a girl's getaway, Fairhaven is an excellent choice. (photo courtesy of Robert James/Bellingham Whatcom County Tourism)

As an innkeeper, I will tell you our guests love Fairhaven shops and eateries. They end the day with a walk along Bellingham Bay at sunset and smile at the local entertainment on the Village Green.
You will want to stay longer than an afternoon, so check in to the Fairhaven Village Inn our small hotel at the heart of it all!
