Missoula, Montana is a dynamic community where the residents enjoy nature, arts and music, and gathering together at fairs and festivals. Missoula offers a lot of fun activities for people who love the outdoors or who are into history. Hiking and river recreation are popular in the summer; skiing and snowmobiling are among your options for winter fun. Natural history buffs will enjoy learning the fantastic story of Glacial Lake Missoula and seeing lake and flood evidence in and around the city. If you are visiting Missoula anytime during July and August I would highly recommend a one-day whitewater trip with ROW Adventures (www.ROWadventures.com) on the Clark Fork River. I took my nephew for his first rafting trip and he had a blast! During one rapid (my 7-yr old son and 6-yr old nephew were seated behind me) I looked back and both boys went up and miraculously they both came back down in the same place and didn’t stop laughing until they fell asleep that night! I wish I could say the same for our ROW Adventures guide – she had a good swim
