I recently had the opportunity to spend time with the folks from The Miracle Theatre Group, The Milagro Theatre, in Portland. The Hispanic theater and arts outreach organization, which will be celebrating its 30th anniversary next year, is staffed by incredibly passionate and dedicated individuals. Their performance calendar includes works in English, in Spanish with English supertitles, and bilingual in both English and Spanish. I had the opportunity to see Riaz, a bilingual Day of the Dead spectacle that was amusing, entertaining, and thought provoking. Whether you are a Spanish-speaker or not, if you're a fan of theater, I recommend taking in a show by the Miracle Theatre Group when you're in Portland.
