The Northern Rocky Mountains cut right through the Inland Northwest states of Wyoming, Idaho, and Montana. Combine abundant snowfall with this interesting terrain and you have the makings of a great winter vacation destination. The national parks and forests of Wyoming, Idaho, and Montana provide unique wintertime experiences for the adventurous traveler. Two of the West's major ski resorts, Sun Valley and Jackson Hole, fall into this Inland Northwest US territory, as do many other great ski mountains.
