Seattle's Museum of History & Industry - MOHAI - will re-open to the public with grand opening events beginning on December 29, 2012. MOHAI has relocated to a wonderful new location on South Lake Union, occupying the historic Naval Reserve Armory constructed in 1941-1942. The renovated structure provides exhibit space and facilities greater than the previous location near the University of Washington.
Grand opening festivities will begin with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Saturday morning. Throughout MOHAI's grand-opening weekend, in addition to the museum's exhibits, visitors can enjoy performances from local artists, hands-on activities, and food trucks. Timed-ticket reservations are required. As part of the grand opening celebration, MOHAI is hosting a New Year's Family Day on Tuesday, January 1.
