Several intriguing special exhibitions will be coming to Seattle museums in the coming weeks. Any or all make a great reason to schedule that late winter getaway to the city.
- The Art of Video Games at EMP
A traveling exhibition of the Smithsonian American Art Museum, this exhibit features the worlds and characters created during the various eras of video game development, from Donkey Kong to Myst to Halo. Opens February 15, 2013. - Rembrandt, Van Dyck, Gainsborough: The Treasures of Kenwood House, London at Seattle Art Museum
Old Master and 17th- and 18th-century European paintings from the Earl of Iveagh's personal collection are featured in this special art exhibit. Runs February 14 through May 19, 2013. - Space Shuttle: Conquering Low Earth Orbit at the Museum of Flight
Created at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama, this exhibit focuses on the Space Shuttle program, which ran for 30 years. Opens January 28, 2013.
