Hatfield Marine Science Center
Learn about the geology of the ocean floor or the technology used to track whales at this Oregon State University coastal research center. The visitor facilities give you a taste of the work and knowledge of the more than 300 marine scientists who work at the Science Center. Budding marine biologists will delight in the fascinating exhibits, including a "touch" tank where children of all ages can get hands-on familiarity with tidal creatures, including an octopus.
Oregon Coast History Center
Discover the stories of Newport and Lincoln County's past with a visit to the Oregon Coast History Center. Located in Burrows House, originally constructed in 1895, the Center offers exhibits and a research library. Their web site also provides the information for an auto tour of the area's historic sites.
Newport Performing Arts Center
Enjoy music, film, plays, and lectures at Newport's 23,000-square-foot facility. The performance schedule features both local and visiting artists.
