Oregon's wild, rugged coast is home to a number of splendid and historic lighthouses. These much-photographed icons are among the many attractions a visitor can enjoy while touring Highway 101, the Pacific Coast Scenic Byway. Most of the beacons are in Oregon State Parks, which offer a range of recreational amenities. A visit to four or five of the lighthouses makes for an exciting day trip; viewing all of them is at least a two-day excursion.

A stop at any or all of these lighthouses is sure to make your visit to the Oregon Coast a delight. Don't forget to bring your camera, and plenty of film or storage media. A pair of binoculars will enhance your wildlife viewing. The Oregon Coast is usually cool and windy, making a hooded sweatshirt or earmuffs a good idea. Finally, after a day of salt spray and sand, a change of warm clothes, shoes, and clean socks will allow you to finish your lighthouse tour in comfort.
