The town of Newport, Oregon is home to a number of fabulous attractions, including the Yaquina Head Lighthouse. This lighthouse is part of the Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area, operated by the Bureau of Land Management. The Yaquina Head Interpretive Center offers a film covering the Yaquina Lighthouses and the intertidal life on the Oregon Coast. You will also learn how the Fresnel lighthouses lens works. The lighthouse is open for self-guided tours during the warmer months of the year; the interpretive center is open year-round.

The Yaquina Head beacon is Oregon's tallest lighthouse. Recent Yaquina Head Lighthouse restoration work was completed in June 2006.
