Guide Review - Birdsongs of the Pacific Northwest
"Birdsongs of the Pacific Northwest" is a lovely set that includes an audio CD and a compact illustrated field guide. The birdsongs were recorded by Martyn Stewart. The field guide, written by Stephen R. Whitney, was illustrated by both Whitney and Elizabeth Briars Hart. Each of the 165 birdsong tracks on the CD begins with the name of the bird. The birdsong samples range from a few seconds to a couple minutes, depending on their complexity. The beauty and variety of the bird sounds makes for fascinating listening.

The CD, packaged inside a small hardbound book cover, is accompanied by a small field guide, which can be pulled out, tucked into your pocket, and carried into the field. "Birdsongs of the Pacific Northwest" is published by The Mountaineers Books.
