The best time to visit Pelindaba Lavender is in summer, especially during the farm's annual Harvest Festival (the third weekend in July), when there are picnics in the fields, music, workshops, lavender crafts, and a wide range of lavender foods and drinks available. An old farmhouse serves as the farm site's general store; it offers over 100 products that are all handcrafted from Pelindaba's organic flowers and oil. Their lavender products include personal care, household, floral, pet care, and therapeutic products. A large selection of lavender-based foods is also available.
In 2004, the farm added an additional retail outlet in downtown Friday Harbor. Serving as as an extension of the farm, the retail outlet boasts a Product Gallery and Cafe, where espresso drinks, hot chocolate with lavender whipped cream, and a variety of farm-baked pastries are available. The downtown store stays open late and is a community gathering place for music, theatrical performances, book signings, and discussions of all types. There is free wi-fi, and a lounge area accentuated by a fireplace.
Pelindaba Lavender Farm is open May-September, 10-5 every day (33 Hawthorne Lane) and for limited days in October-December. Pelindaba Downtown is open all year from 7am-9pm (150 Front Street, a block from the ferry landing).
