Helmets are required in this state for the following:

Bicycle
There are no helmet laws for bicycles

Motorcycle
Riders under the age of 18; passengers of all ages and drivers under 18 and drivers with learner's or instructional permit

Seat Belt Laws in Alaska:
* Seat belts required for the driver and all passengers age 16 and older.
* Children ages 4 until 16 are required to be restrained in a child restraint or seat belt.
* Child restraints are required for children under age 4.
Speed Limits in Alaska:
Rural Interstates
Cars: 65 mph

Urban Interstates
Cars: 55 mph

Other Limited Access Roads
Cars: 65 mph

Other Roads
Cars: 55 mph

Public Smoking in Alaska:
Smoking is prohibited in elevators. Smoking is restricted to designated areas in public transportation vehicles and waiting areas, courtrooms or jury rooms, correctional facilities, grocery and retail food stores, and the Alaska Pioneers' Home or the Alaska veterans' home.
