Seat Belt Laws in Oregon:
* Seat belts required for driver & all passengers age 16 and older
* Children age 8 to 16 & more than 57" must be properly secured with a safety belt
* Children under 8, more than 40 lbs or less than 57" must be secured by a child safety system that elevates the person so that a safety belt properly fits the person. Children riding in the back seat in a lap belt only vehicle are exempt from complying with the booster seat provision
* Children more than 1 (& between 20 and 40 lbs) must be in a forward-facing child safety seat; all children more than 40 lbs must be in a booster seat until they are age 8 more than 57"
